Fantasia Barrino says her suicide attempt earlier this month was an effort to escape what she felt were the mounting pressures of her life.
"I think I was just overloaded with everything, with carrying six years of so much," Barrino said Tuesday (Aug. 24) on "Good Morning America." "I always take a licking and keep on ticking. ... It just became heavy for me to the point that I just wanted to be away from the noise."
Fantasia Barrino appeared today in “Good Morning America” where she talked about the recent scandal she has been into and her suicide attempt. She admitted trying to commit suicide but luckily she was taken to the hospital where she was able to recover.
According to what she said in the interview, it seems that all the drama surrounding her life led her to take this decision that could have ended up tragically.
‘I think I was just overloaded with everything, with carrying six years of so much,’ said Fantasia.’I always take a licking and keep on ticking… it just became heavy for me to the point that I just wanted to be away from the noise.’
‘When I woke up, I figured out, “Oh God, this is going to be more drama. I know all these nurses they know me, they probably voted for me.”‘

Erica Blasberg's cause of death may not be determined for three months.
The Clark County coroner's office ruled Tuesday that 25-year-old professional golfer Erica Blasberg's death was a suicide.
Blasberg died May 9 at her home in Henderson, about 15 miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip. She was found with a plastic bag secured over her head.
Henderson police said that while no foul play is suspected they have issued a misdemeanor arrest warrant for Dr. Thomas Hess on obstruction charges. Police said Hess, who discovered Blasberg's body, removed items from the scene, including a suicide note.
The contents of the note haven't been disclosed.
Hess turned himself into authorities, was booked into jail and released about 35 minutes later, after posting $637 in bail Tuesday afternoon, Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul said.
David Mincavage, an assistant city attorney in Henderson, said the nonviolent misdemeanor charges against Hess carry a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine and six months in jail.
Mincavage said he could not comment further on the case, and Paul declined to say whether additional charges were possible.
The coroner's office said Blasberg died of suicide due to asphyxia, coupled with the presence of toxic levels of prescription medication in her system, including prescription headache, cough, pain and anti-anxiety medications.
The drugs in Blasberg's system included butalbital, temazepam, alprazolam, codeine, hydrocodone, and tramadol, according to the coroner, but Nevada law doesn't permit the release of details on the amounts of medication.

That document confirmed the Tiger (34 years) and Elin (30 years) have completed their four-hour lesson on how to become a parent. They are required to attend the event to finalize a divorce in Florida, a condition that involves children.
"The plan of care is the main interest of the children," said a document. The couple married-stairs for almost six years, and the document also states they have lived apart since November last year. Tiger made the news after his car crashed in front of their home in Windermere, Florida, on the Sharing Love Day weekend - not long after the circulation of news about the affair.
Other details from court documents that Elin is going back to using her maiden name, Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren.
